names for baby boys and  girls

W=Find out the sex of BB#2 on Thursday. I am both nervous and excited.  I think it is a boy, but I was wrong with Mason, so who knows?

It was pretty easy to decide on Mason’s name.  This time, however, I am having a terrible time deciding.  Suggestions, please!

Short list for boys:

Charles Mitchell after both of my parents and Mike’s late friend, Charles DeVaney of Augusta, Georgia

Charles Nathaniel–Nathaniel was the middle name of my paternal great-grandfather, Bland Nathaniel Moxley, and his grandfather, Nathaniel Moxley; Other pluses–it is a Biblical name and it is just historically cool (i.e. Nathaniel Green)

 Charles Bandy–my maiden name

 Charles Wilson–Mike’s maternal grandfather’s middle name and his own mother’s maiden name  (though I remembered this morning that there is a famous American painter by this name, so this one is out)

Charles Freely–my great-grandfather Bandy’s first name

Rhett Nathaniel–DUH! And see above.

Short list for girls:

Eliza Joelle–Eliza after Elizabeth Bennett in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Joelle, my maiden name

Ella Caroline–Ella was my late Aunt Bertia’s middle name.  She was named after her grandmother, Ella Johns Cheshire.

Julia Caroline–We just like the name Julia.  And the character of Julia Sugarbaker on “Designing Women” was my favorite.
